Producer Information
Tenuta Sette Ponti is an Italian wine estate in Tuscany, just east of the Chianti Classico zone. In addition to local vineyards, grapes are also sourced from the neighboring island of Sicily. There are around 50 hectares (123 acres) of vines within the estate, which sits at around 300 meters (1000ft) above sea level. The soil, which is fairly consistent across the estate, combines clay, sand, limestone and Galestro stone, which is well-suited to the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that is planted here. Sette Ponti’s oldest vineyard is the 3 hectares (7.4 acre) Vigna dell’Impero (Empire Vineyard), planted in 1935 by the Count of Turin. Sette Ponti produces wines in several Tuscan appellations. These include Vigna di Pallino, an unoaked Chianti, and Anni, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. The estate also produces an Etna Rosso DOC and Etna Bianco DOC.
